Came across this. Quite a looker actually. I haven't the cash available, but it's nice to think about expanding the fleet some, the guzzle v8 bay is empty right now.

From the ad:

Original WS6 Turbo Trans Am, now has modified 454. Loaded with T-tops, Tilt, PW, PDL, AC (no op), Tinted glass. All new brakes, rotors, and calipers. 4 Wheel Disk Brakes. Solid Okanagan car from new. Very clean interior.

That's not a 454 under the hood.
Most likely a Poncho 455, it's a shame the original Turbo 301 was dumped.
It was bad but it was Turbocharging history.

It's a Chevy 454. The 454 is a big block Chevy engine, the Pontiac 455 is a small block. The main give aways are the valve cover shape, external dimensions, head design, and accessory mounting. The turbo 301 engines were junk (my Trans am had one from the factory). They ran very basic ECUs and were very unreliable. Someone did me a favor by blowing up the turbo engine before I bought the car.

I admitted my wrong doing, or tried to earlier. Mobile Oppo still isn't quite right.
As far as the Turbo 4.9 goes.. I'd kill to have one. Stone stock. You'd hear the detonation coming and going like the Ice Cream truck on a hot day but it would still be there.
It wasn't quite right but neither was the early Ford Turbo 2.3 or the Olds Turbo Jetfire (1962 and 63).
